Still, it's good to have some further background on the case from a local perspective. Most information suggests the witnesses were shunned, but your experience would suggest the community supported them.

If you can put us in touch with anyone who remembers events first-hand, it would be great. If they wish, I can promise their identity can be protected. Unlike Roswell, there's plenty of survivors who could have witnessed or participated in these events.Curt Collinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13773941506205598439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071963771262525979.post-58507990375662604982013-11-19T19:10:48.034-06:002013-11-19T19:10:48.034-06:00I live a few miles from the alleged sight and grow...I live a few miles from the alleged sight and growing up in this small town I heard many different stories. The subject had not come up in almost ten years but I remember a discussion I had at a local feed store about this in 2000. The older locals seemed to recall the event very well and also spoke of many other witnesses to the craft that night and the heavy presence of military in the area that night following the event. I've even heard that the entire road was closed till morning. The stories I've heard all describe a well lit craft being accompanied by helicopters that seemed to be military as well. I guess the town just lost interest in the whole thing because now days you can hardly find anyone that has knowledge of what happen. Residents in the area of the sighting have lived there for many years before this all happened and I've always wanted to go knocking on doors to ask what they recall from that night. A lot of the old timers around here are not the type that would ever go to the media about a sighting like this but I bet there have been a few good accounts of the sighting discussed over a drink at the local beer joint. Very interesting case. It's a plausible theoretical explanation that would account for many of the elements of the story.

I favored the military test theory, but put it on hold to consider the evidence. Since there was so much data, it seemed we could learn much from the direction of flight, flight characteristics, multiple witnesses, physical evidence and injuries caused by the encounter.

When I started examining the evidence, almost none of it was as advertised. While I'm fairly certain there was a core event, the case as we know it is a fairy tale.

I'm interested in the truth of the event, but I'm also fascinated how the story was allowed to take root in UFO legend as one of the best cases.Curt Collinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13773941506205598439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071963771262525979.post-63447689234225754502013-11-13T12:59:37.256-06:002013-11-13T12:59:37.256-06:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.purrlgurrlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06519835482606629362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1071963771262525979.post-808211291084100132013-11-13T12:55:28.286-06:002013-11-13T12:55:28.286-06:00Just curious. By now you probably have developed your own theory about what this unfortunate little group encountered on that Texas highway, but looking through your posts I don't see it articulated succinctly anywhere. Where I think you're heading is below. Am I close?

It was a vehicle being developed for the US military or some other US government agency that was being unsuccessfully tested by a private-sector contractor in the area of the event, with no direct US military involvement in that particular test on that particular day.

What's clear to anyone who looks at this case from a rational viewpoint is that the explanation that doesn't hold water is a spacecraft successfully travelling from millions of light years away suddenly developing serious flight problems so close to Earth's ground.
purrlgurrlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06519835482606629362noreply@blogger.com
